How to become a member

Individuals wishing to join the NSCA will be required to complete a Membership Application Form and submit either by email or mail to The President of NSCA. 

The applicant will be required to:


a.
provide proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency in Canada.
b.
have reasonable fluency in written and spoken English.
c.
have been engaged in clinical practice, either inside or outside of Canada, for a total of at least one year immediately preceding the application for membership.
d.
not have been found guilty of any criminal offence or any other offence relevant to  suitability to practise chiropody;
e.
not have been found guilty of professional misconduct, incompetence or incapacity in relation to chiropody or another health profession;
f.
not be the subject of a current proceeding or professional misconduct, incompetence or incapacity in relation to chiropody or another health profession;
Education

The applicant will be required to have, either
a.
a diploma in chiropody from the Michener Institute of Applied Science located in Ontario, Canada;
b.
a degree in chiropody/podiatry from a recognised educational institution either within Canada or overseas.
Applicants who have a diploma in chiropody from the Michener Institute of Applied Science will be required to pay our membership fee to fulfil the application to become a member of the NSCA.

Applicants who have a diploma or degree other than from the Michener Institute of Applied Science will be evaluated by the NSCA Executives and if necessary, required to sit an evaluation examination. A pass standing will be required to fulfil the application along with full payment of membership to the NSCA.

An original transcript of all chiropody qualifications will be required to be submitted directly from the educational institution to the NSCA.
